Ways To Get Rid Of Debt
Today in the midst of an economic crisis, millions of Americans are finding themselves strapped with credit card debts that they can’t manage. For many they have come to the place that if they pay off their monthly bills, there is nothing left to put food on the table. Add to that the loss of their job, and many have taken the lives of their family members and their own life as well. This is NOT the way to get rid of your credit card debts.
Stop using the credit cards with the highest interest rates. Let the credit card companies know that you want them to close your account so no one can make any more purchases on it. Tell them about your plans to pay it off as fast as you can. Leave the credit card with the lowest interest rate open, but put it in a drawer, and don’t take it with you when you go shopping.
Determine to do whatever is necessary to pay off your debts in the quickest amount of time possible. Realize that, in order to accomplish your goal, it will take determination and sacrifice on your part.
Make a budget and don’t go over it. Write down all of your monthly expenses and approximately how much you have to spend for each one. Look over your list and see where you can cut expenses. For now, leave just the things that are necessary for daily living and your monthly bills.
Determine how you can live as cheaply as possible. The goal is to only buy the absolute necessities, and save everything else to pay off your debts. Stay away from stores and online sites where you can purchase items. If you aren’t in a place where you will be tempted to buy, you won’t spend money.
Begin to pay down your debt. Choose the card with the highest interest rate and work to pay it off first. Just pay the minimum on the other cards. Look for odd jobs in order to have more money to help you pay it off faster. Once you finish that card, add the money you were paying on the first card to the minimum payment on the second card, and pay it off. Continue doing the same thing with each of your cards.
It wasn’t hard at all for you to get in debt. In fact, it probably happened faster than you realized. Now you will have to dig in your heels, and with an unprecedented determination, do everything you can to get out of debt. Follow these suggestions, and your debt will begin to disappear.
